Kathmandu Sightseeing

Firstly, we will start with the bustling capital city- Kathmandu, which serves as a cultural and historical significance. Also, known as the city of temples, you will find every corner of the alleys leading you to unique temples and statues of different deity goddesses. On this tour, we will get to discover the old royal palace- Kathmandu Durbar Square, and witness the living goddess at Kumari House.

Following that, we will visit the two most exquisite and peaceful Buddhist stupas: Swoyambhunath Stupa (The Monkey Temple) and Boudhanath Stupa. Located at the top hill of Kathmandu Valley, Swoyambhunath offers panoramic views of the city adorned with colorful prayer flags and prayer wheels. Boudhanth is the tallest stupa in Nepal for Tibetan Buddhists.

After sightseeing the whole day, we will conclude the day by lastly paying a visit to another sacred Hindu pilgrimage, Pashupatinath Temple, especially for devotees of Lord Shiva. Witness evening Arati along with the live cremation rituals at the bank of the holy river, Bagmati.

Patan Sightseeing

Another day waits for your discovery of the historic place, Patan, also known as ‘Lalitpur’, the city of artisans. Patan Durbar Square is famous for its intricate wood carvings, graceful temples such as Krishna Temple, Mahaboudha with thousands of Buddha’s faces engraved, and Hiranya Varna Mahavihar (Golden Temple). Along with the never-ending narrow streets, houses made of bricks, the ancient preserved Hindu temples and Buddhist monasteries, pottery at Patan is highly popular.

Bhaktapur Sightseeing

On the last day of the tour, we will visit the medieval charm Bhaktapur Durbar Square which is famously also known as a Living Museum. This place takes you to the timeless 55-Window Palace, the Vatsala Temple, and the Nyatapola Temple, which are masterpieces of Newari craftsmanship. Remember to allow your tastebud the flavours of authentic Newari dishes such as Chatamari, Yomari, Bara, Samay Baji and mostly, the special Bhaktapur dessert-Juju dhau meaning “king of yoghurt”.

Kathmandu Sightseeing – Temples, Stupas, and Palaces

Today, we explore the cultural gems of Kathmandu, starting with Swayambhunath Stupa, famously known as the Monkey Temple. Perched atop a hill, this 2,500-year-old stupa offers a panoramic view of the valley and a spiritual ambiance filled with fluttering prayer flags and the soft murmurs of monks chanting mantras. Next, we head to Pashupatinath Temple, the most sacred Hindu temple in Nepal, dedicated to Lord Shiva. The site, located on the banks of the Bagmati River, is a profound experience where you witness the deep spiritual connection between life and death, as cremation rituals take place in accordance with Hindu traditions. From here, we visit Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world. This massive white dome, adorned with the all-seeing eyes of Buddha, is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. Walking around the stupa alongside monks and devotees spinning prayer wheels feels like stepping into another world. Finally, we explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing stunning medieval palaces, temples, and courtyards. You will visit the home of the Kumari, Nepal’s living goddess, where a brief glimpse of her through the intricately carved window is considered a blessing. Patan & Bhaktapur – Newari Art and Culture

After breakfast, we drive to Patan (Lalitpur), the city of artisans. Patan Durbar Square welcomes us with a mesmerizing collection of temples, palaces, and courtyards showcasing intricate wood and metalwork. We visit the Krishna Mandir, a masterpiece of stone architecture, and explore the Patan Museum, home to centuries-old artifacts reflecting Nepal’s artistic heritage. Walking through the narrow alleys, we witness artisans meticulously crafting metal statues and Thangka paintings, keeping centuries-old traditions alive. Next, we drive to Bhaktapur, the best-preserved medieval city in Nepal. Known as the “City of Devotees,” Bhaktapur is a living heritage with its cobbled streets, traditional houses, and vibrant squares. We explore Bhaktapur Durbar Square, home to the famous 55-Window Palace, Vatsala Temple, and the Golden Gate. The towering Nyatapola Temple, a five-storied pagoda, stands as a testament to Nepal’s architectural brilliance. A visit to Bhaktapur would be incomplete without tasting its famous Juju Dhau (King Yogurt), a creamy, sweet delicacy that has been a local favorite for generations. As the sun sets over the ancient city, we drive back to Kathmandu, bringing a fulfilling day to an end.
